Picton or Bust - 10 February
For Craig's birthday we took a day trip to Picton. The sailing was incredibly smooth, although it was quite windy and overcast while we were down there. Helena bet Craig at miniputt! The third time in 18 years! We introduced ourselves to quite a few pubs and had a great day out.
Craig's best attemps at miniputt, however Helena was the champion on the day!

We were on the Kaitaki going down, it is the new boat from the UK. The pub (above) was very old English style - quite cute with the wood panelling. The dining room was an awesome set up - like a little food court that you chose your food from. Quite impressed. Below is us backing into Picton - because the ship is so much bigger than the other ferries, passengers actually have to walk onto the car deck to get to the gangway - quite hillarious.
Behind Craig is the Aratere which we came back on and below is the view of the twin tunnels from the starboard deck making our way through the sounds.

All American Vehicle Day
Held at the Trentham Racecourse, just down the road from us. We jumped on the Harley and got free parking inside! woohoo! $4 entry free, was a bargain!
Was a gorgeous day, our favourite local rock band "Turbo Rats" were playing and there was a huge turnout. Awesome fun - might take a picnic lunch next year and a couple of bottles of wine! There must have been about 300 cars on show today, including motorbikes and dragsters! Nice work!
